How to link contacts?
You can merge multiple contacts into a single one by using the following steps:
- Open Contacts app.
- If needed, tap the Contacts tab.
- Tap or long press the Recent apps key to open up the additional options and then select Links contacts.
- The device will show you all of contacts that can be joined. By default, the contacts are sorted by the name. If needed, you can change how the contacts will be sorted by tapping the box in the right side of the Sort by option and then select from the following options:
- Name: select this option to sort contacts by their names so that all contacts with the same name will be listed in a single section.
- Phone number: select this option to sort contacts by their phone numbers so that all contacts with the same phone number will be listed in a single section.
- Email address: select this option to sort contacts by their email addresses so that all contacts with the same email address will be listed in a single section.
- Select the required contacts you want to join.
- Tap Done button.
- The selected contacts within the same section have been joined into a single contact. As the example, if the contacts are sorted by the name then all selected contacts with the same name will be joined into a single contact.
